Kerry B’s story

I remember the first time I came to the Club, around 2008 when I really needed a meeting and had resentment against so many at my home group (easy to do lol!). I ended up at a 4pm meeting and a gal was the chairperson. I heard a lot that day, or maybe I was just desperate or listening with my heart more than before. I would attend meetings at the club off and on throughout the years. One morning was at the Cup of Coffee meeting downstairs when Mike Y. announced that there was a need for secretaries at some meetings at the club. I called him that night. He set me up to secretary a 4pm meeting on either a Tuesday or Wednesday. I have not looked back since. I’ve done a secretary shift during the pandemic via Zoom and most recently helped out at the Cup of Coffee meeting on Sundays. I love seeing all the people coming to the club; eating, enjoying fellowship, getting fed at the meetings, and sharing experiences. I’ve seen many upgrades to the facilities and seen the technology grow as well.

Sometimes people come to the Alano club and steal our hearts, then leave us way too soon. That is the absolute worst. But we keep coming back!
